Tom Sneddon

I specialise in commercial property matters and have advised developers, investors and occupiers on a range of transactions comprising the following:

  • Acquisitions and disposals of various types of freehold and leasehold property including retail premises, offices, warehouses and nightclubs;
  • Negotiation of new commercial leases;
  • Asset management (lease variations, refinancing, grants of licences etc);
  • Refranchising (acquisition of business premises in conjunction with corporate transactions.)
Education/Background

I studied at the University of Westminster before completing the LPC at the College of Law. I then worked in a variety of junior property law positions in London before training and qualifying at Kidd Rapinet LLP’s London office.

Following admission to the roll on April 1st 2015, I worked as a property solicitor in the Thames Valley for over a year before joining OGR Stock Denton in late 2016.

Recent notable cases

Edwards & Walkden (Norfolk) Ltd & ORS v Mayor & Commonalty and Citizens of City of London [2012] – EWHC 2527 (Ch) – I Helped to act for the defendant tenants’ association at Smithfield Meat Market in connection with their contentious lease renewals and whether new rents should be inclusive of service charges. This case followed the ruling in O’May v City of London Real Property Co Ltd [1982].
